Privacy & AML Principles

L2Pass is a non-custodial interface for swapping tokens across blockchains. Using it does not require an account or routine identity verification. Swaps are executed by independent third-party providers, and those providers apply risk controls where they must, to prevent abuse and to meet legal requirements.

Our Privacy Approach

L2Pass does not track individual users and does not save personal data or transaction data on its own side. We do not ask you to create an account.

We use Google Analytics to measure overall use of the Site. It works with anonymized, aggregated data, and we do not link it to your wallet address or your on-chain activity.

No Standard KYC

L2Pass does not require identity verification as a condition of using the Site. KYC is not requested by default.

A provider that executes your swap has its own compliance rules. They can apply to a specific transaction because of legal obligations, sanctions screening, high AML risk indicators, or the requirements of a liquidity source. These requirements come from the provider's rules, not from L2Pass.

Why Compliance Checks May Apply

Providers use risk-based transaction monitoring to protect users, prevent fraud and misuse, and meet their legal obligations. A review can be triggered by indicators such as sanctions exposure, stolen or compromised funds, fraud patterns, high-risk blockchain history, technical anomalies, or suspected misuse.

  • Checks are risk-based, not routine identity checks.
  • Most transactions are processed without any additional steps.
  • A review does not automatically mean that you broke a rule.

Third-Party Providers

Swaps made through L2Pass are routed to independent providers: cross-chain bridges and messaging protocols, solvers, and liquidity sources. For routing and settlement we use the 1Click service of Intents Technology Limited, which is part of the NEAR Intents infrastructure.

These providers have their own limits, technical requirements, risk controls, and compliance procedures. L2Pass does not control them and cannot override their decisions.

Private Swaps

Private swaps run in a confidential execution environment. This limits what is visible on public blockchains, but it is not full anonymity. Your public wallet address is included in requests sent to providers, and private swaps stay subject to the same screening, blocking, and sanctions controls as other swaps. Confidentiality depends on third-party technology and is not guaranteed.

If a Transaction Is Flagged

If a provider flags a swap because of AML, sanctions, fraud-prevention, security, or technical controls, the swap can be delayed, blocked, or frozen while the provider reviews it.

  1. Review. The provider checks the transaction for risk indicators, technical issues, or its own requirements.
  2. Communication. You may need to contact the provider. You can also write to us at info@l2pass.com. We will help where we can, but we cannot see or change a provider's review.
  3. Resolution. The provider can complete, cancel, refund, or keep holding the swap, according to its own rules and the law.
  4. Funds. If a provider returns funds, the amount can be reduced by network and provider fees.

Refunds and Recovery

L2Pass does not hold your funds and cannot refund, reverse, or release a transaction. If a swap does not complete, the outcome is set by the rules of the providers and protocols involved. They have no obligation to refund or recover, and we cannot promise any refund or delivery time.

  • Blockchain transactions are irreversible.
  • A wrong network, address, or token, or a missing memo or tag, can lead to permanent loss.
  • Recovery depends on technical and blockchain limits and on provider decisions.

What Data May Be Processed

L2Pass does not store your personal data or transaction data. Other parties involved in a swap may process some data:

  • Public blockchains. Your wallet address, transactions, and balances are public and permanent. We cannot delete or change them.
  • Providers. The providers that route and execute your swap may collect your wallet address, IP address, device and browser details, and transaction details such as hashes, amounts, networks, and routing data. The 1Click service of Intents Technology may collect request data for security, compliance, and analytics under its own privacy policy.
  • Infrastructure. Hosting and network providers may keep standard technical logs.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics collects anonymized, aggregated usage statistics that are not linked to your wallet.

We do not control how providers use or keep data. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not require registration for swaps.
  • We do not request KYC as a standard condition of use.
  • We do not take custody of your funds.
  • We do not store your personal data or transaction data on our side.
  • We do not link analytics to your wallet or your on-chain activity.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for your transactions and for following the laws and third-party restrictions that apply to you.

  • Check the receiving address before you sign.
  • Choose the correct blockchain network and token.
  • Add a memo, tag, or payment ID where one is required.
  • Do not send assets linked to sanctioned, stolen, or unlawful sources.
  • Do not use the Site if you are in a restricted location.

Restricted Locations

The Site is not available to persons located in, established in, or resident of jurisdictions subject to comprehensive sanctions, or to jurisdictions that our providers restrict. The full list is in our Terms of Service.
